Brand Identity, Hospitality
Located on the southeast slopes of Mount Batukaru, Batukaru retreat is a peaceful haven surrounded by protected jungle. It offers an opportunity to escape, reconnect with nature, and appreciate the stunning views of Bali. The open-air rooms, carefully constructed with natural and recycled materials, seamlessly blend with the landscape.
The logo combines a tree and roof, inspired by the retreat’s architecture, where tree trunks are used as pillars, integrating the space with nature. I was also inspired by the founder's belief in nurturing the land, as seen in the retreat’s plantation, where they grow their own food to sustain both the environment and their guests. This sense of connection between land, community, and tradition is further echoed in the woven design, inspired by Balinese bamboo basketry.

The intricate weave of the logo can be expanded into different graphic elements such as patterns, framing devices and super graphics. It can also be deconstructed into iconographies that represents the retreat.
Found in each room, the look book, introduces guests to the beauty of the retreat’s mountainous location, moving beyond Bali’s iconic beaches. The cover’s landscape format reflects the coastline, while the tall, vertical interior pages symbolize the journey inland to the mountains where the retreat is nestled.
Brand elements are integrated throughout the retreat, appearing in wayfinding signage, room identifiers, wall graphics, and even on the blankets, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for guests.
